OSS preset: For open source projects, there is now an oss preset that allows you to create an alternate-style workspace layout for your open source projects.

This name is configurable in the nx.json now to allow for other defaults, such as main or trunk.

This branch is used to determined the affected projects calculated from the dependency graph.

Default Base Branch For Affected Commands: traditionally, the name of the main development branch is master.

Custom Layouts: custom workspace layouts provide alternatives to apps and libs for your top-level folders.

Nx has also been improved to support workspaces with different configurations: More Customizable WorkspacesĪn Nx workspace provides reasonable defaults when a new workspace is created for building applications and libraries.

Added Nx Plugins, allowing community plugins to be built on top of Nx.

Improvements to the Nx CLI’s local caching, and launched distributed caching with Nx Cloud.

We continued to add new features and support new platforms in Nx 9. If you aren’t familiar with it, learn about Nx at nx.dev/angular and nx.dev/react. Nx is a set of Extensible Dev Tools for Monorepos, which we developed at Nrwl based on our experience working at Google and helping Fortune 500 enterprises build ambitious applications at scale. You can set the language level of a project so that these features only kick in when appropriate.Today, we are happy to announce the release of Nx 10 that includes many new features, including support for Angular 10! This means things like support for records (lightweight classes for carrying immutable data), and highlighting for sealed classes and interfaces.

IntelliJ IDEA 2020.2 brings significant updates for Java developers including support for Java 15, the update expected in September. Differentiation between the commercial, language-specific and free editions is achieved by varying the level of access to closed-source plugins, with IDEA Ultimate getting you everything. You can also add support for these languages into IDEA via plugins.

Other related IDEs cover Python, JavaScript, PHP, C#, C/C++. This week brings the release of IDEA 2020.2, which is the Java/Kotlin IDE and the most comprehensive product in the JetBrains family.

Major updates to IntelliJ come three times a year, generally in March, the end of July (this one) and November/December. JetBrains is releasing version 2020.2 of its Java IDE this week
